The origin of Catalina’s powers lies within this story. It all starts off when Catalina travels to Peru on vacation to visit the infamous Machu Picchu. After arriving, she started her trip by visiting different tourist attractions. Catalina enjoys taking photographs which is what she did through most of her visits to the tourist areas. She made sure to do this all before visiting the Machu Picchu, since she wanted to save the best for last. After days, she was finally able to visit the infamous pyramid. When exploring around the pyramid she was shocked to have found ancient artifacts that the Incas used before the Spanish colonized Peru. After walking for 30 minutes exploring the pyramid, she felt tired and took a rest. Without looking at her surroundings , she accidently touched a statue which contained the most beautiful green emerald as eyes. The emeralds started to glow , as if they were lasers about to fire, thankfully nothing happened. Suddenly, Catalina started feeling weird inside and a bit light headed, as if touching that statue meant a curse had befallen upon her. At this point, she realized that the statue she touched was no ordinary statue, but a statue that had hidden powers inside it. She didn’t know that she had obtained powers from the statue. She could not fathom the idea of having obtained superpowers from the statue as she thought that they only existed in TV Shows and Movies. But suddenly, she noticed sudden changes within her. When exiting the pyramid she began noticing that she could now hear voices around her as if they were talking to her, she was overwhelmed with all this and just wanted to lay down. When she arrived at the hotel she was staying as she began to act weirdly when others were not around. Catalina was very nervous but at the same time excited as she wanted to see what she could now accomplish, so she decided to take these powers out when her trip finished. With only a few more days left of her trip she wanted to see how much fun she could have now that she had a new ability, it was important that while using her mind reading powers she kept a good and steady form of breathing as reading minds took a lot of energy and focus, when she was not focus she couldn't control the power and would hear everyone's subconscious voice which drove her insane. With constant practice she was able to master her new ability and she couldn’t have been more happy. After coming from Peru, she decided to use her powers only when needed and she also decided to keep her power a secret as she was scared and didn't know if she could trust anyone with this information. Life was never the same after the trip to Peru but they were most definitely better, Catalina couldn't have been more happy.
